Mark's Programs
In this powerful Emmy-nominated performance, Mark Brown outlines for student the dangers of bullying and the importance of tolerance and respect. Drawing from characters in Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast,' Brown approaches this delicate topic using vocal impressions, sound effects, and song. The presentation is interactive, entertaining, and unpredictable as Brown faces the topic of bullying head-on. He also speaks to the issue of cyber-bullying, whereby teens use the Internet to inflict pain on their peers. Brown's unique style and "tell it like it is" approach prompts students to take a hard look at the roles they play (bully/victim/bystander) and encourages them to actively build a culture of respect within their school and community.
Suggested audience: Grades 6-12.
